Godson Mbise's Biography
"There are many beautiful things to see in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro climbers should take care to bring proper equipment. It is important to come with warm but flexible clothing so that the climb is as comfortable as it possibly can be. Remember to bring sunglasses for summit day.” (translated from Swahili)

“The food was delicious. I couldn’t believe the meals he created in such harsh conditions.”
Godson is an extremely hard worker; he is reliable, friendly, and flexible. He is always willing to do extra work in a pinch and Duma is very lucky to have him.
Godson likes to work for Duma Explorer because Duma gave him his first work experience. In Arusha, the tourism industry is very competitive and Godson had a difficult time finding employment. Because Duma Explorer was willing to employ Godson, he now has significant work experience and a monthly salary. Also, Godson believes that Duma Explorer cares about its employees. Duma pays its porters 8,000 Tanzanian Shillings per day, one of the few companies to follow the Porters’ Association recommendations. Duma also makes sure that the porters have sleeping tents and enough food during treks.
Godson lives in Arusha and is a member of the Meru tribe. He is married and has one son, Erik, who attends kindergarten at the school Duma Explorer supports.
