Justine Mbise's Biography

Justine Mbise started with Duma Explorer as a Porter in 2007. He has summited Kilimanjaro with Duma three times and has worked with other companies in the Arusha area including Tusker Trails. He has climbed Kilimanjaro via the very difficult Crater Camp/Barafu ascent.

Justine likes the Machame route the best as he is very familiar with the trail and campsites. He also finds that route to be the easiest to climb as a porter. His favorite campsite is Machame Camp because he thinks the weather is usually very good there.

In the future, Justine would like to take cooking classes so that he can become a mountain chef. When he is not on the mountain, he works in the timber business sawing and selling timber for construction purposes.

Justine likes working with Duma as it takes care of its employees in terms of salary and equipment. He also feels that there is an understanding amongst the staff and the work atmosphere is enjoyable.

Justine loves the summit of Kilimanjaro and thinks that the glaciers and views are beautiful.

Duma's head guides like working with Justine because he is very tough. He does not get altitude sickness and can perform difficult tasks at even the highest camps.
