Peter Mbise's Biography

photo of Peter Mbise "Be sure to be honest with the guides about how you feel while you are on the mountain. Openness about your health helps us guide you better. Also, if you have any preexisting conditions, especially concerning your back or chest, please let us know. You are welcome in Tanzania!"

Peter Mbise has been working for Duma as an assistant mountain guide since 2005. He is the younger brother of Duma's owner, Hezron Mbise, and he also lives in Ndatu Village near Hezron. Peter usually climbs Kilimanjaro with Duma's head guide, Zawadi Maula. He averages one Kili climb a month and two Meru climbs a year.

Peter has climbed all routes of Kilimanjaro and he has visited most of Tanzania's wildlife parks in the northern and southern areas of the country. He has also traveled through Kenya and Uganda with Duma's owners Stacy and Hezron. Next year, Peter would like to obtain his guide's license from the national park so he can lead Kilimanjaro trips on his own. In two years, Peter would like to switch his position in the tourism industry to driver-guide for safaris.
