Saidi Jumaa's Biography

photo of Saidi Jumaa Saidi is head guide Zawadi Maula's main assistant guide. Saidi has been climbing Kilimanjaro for seven years; he worked as both a porter and cook before becoming an assistant guide. Based in Moshi, Saidi climbs Kilimanjaro with Zawadi approximately fifteen times per year.

Saidi would like to become a head guide, and is training for his Kilimanjaro National Park test.

Although Saidi primarily works on Kilimanjaro, he also likes visiting the game parks. His favorite Kilimanjaro route is Machame and his favorite campsite is Barranco. Saidi enjoys interacting with trekkers, and almost always accompanies them to Uhuru Peak. He also likes to assist the cook in preparing meals.

Saidi also enjoys teaching travelers Swahili, and especially likes to let them know that they are welcome in Tanzania: Karibu Tanzania!

Saidi enjoys working for Duma Explorer because the salaries are higher and they have great equipment for big groups of trekkers.
