Sifuni Amos Mungure's Biography

Sifuni Amos Mungure, who goes by Sifuni, was hired by Duma in 2011. He has been working in tourism since 2005 and worked for the same company for six years before joining Duma in 2011.

Sifuni is an extremely hard worker and often has back to back safaris during the busy season. He enjoys all types of safaris including camping, trekking, lodge, and tented camp trips.

Sifuni took a one year course in wildlife guiding and has visited all of the parks in Northern Tanzania. He has not climbed Kilimanjaro nor has he been to the coastal area.

Sifuni's favorite park is Serengeti because it is large and has many different areas to visit. His favorite animal is the Cape buffalo. and His favorite bird is the Fish Eagle because of the different appearances it has when it is a juvenile, in breeding and in adulthood.

Sifuni likes working for Duma Explorer because he is always busy. He is from Usa River, near Arusha, and has two young children.

When he is not working, Sifuni likes to farm.

A highlight: The extremely high quality of the Guide, which we were able to compare with other Guides we encountered in the Parks, lodges, etc. Besides Sifuni's fluent English, he is also extremely knowledgeable of the nature, biology and geography of the 3 parks we visited. The safari element obviously but it was made better by the patience of Sifuni and his willingness to please everyone in the vehicle. His sense for an animal to appear or a special sighting was tremendous.

Sifuni, was excellent and he ensured that we had a safe as well as fantastic experience. He was very pleasant to be with, very respectful of us, other drivers and the environment, very knowledgeable about the wildlife, always seemed to know where to be at the right time, coordinated the best game drives according to what we were looking for and we always ended up seeing a huge variety of animals and landscapes. An overall spectacular experience from beginning to end.
