Nine Day Lodge/Tented Camp : August-September Itinerary

Day One: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, drive to Tarangire to discover the giant termite mounds and baobab trees of Tarangire. This park is famous for its large elephant population, scenery and diversity of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Tarangire's wildlife includes elephant, lion, giraffe, warthog, ostrich, impala and baboon.

Day Two: Tarangire National Park
Leave the lodge at 6:30am for an all day game drive in Tarangire. Eat a packed lunch in the park. Return to the tented camp at 6:30pm for dinner and overnight.

Day Three: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
Early morning game drive in Tarangire from 6:30am until 8:30am. Return to the lodge for a hot breakfast. Pack up the vehicles and leave for Lake Manyara National Park. Game drive in Manyara eating a picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and overnight at Kirurumu Tented Camp.

Wildlife commonly seen in Lake Manyara includes elephant, baboon, giraffe, hippo, flamingo, and various water birds.

Day Four: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive in Lake Manyara from 6:30am until 8:30am. Return to the campsite for a hot breakfast before leaving for Serengeti National Park. On your way to the Serengeti, pass through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing to view the Crater. As you drive to your Serengeti campsite, game drive along the way viewing the park's resident and migratory animals. Overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge, located in the heart of the Serengeti.

Species commonly seen in the Serengeti include wildebeest, cheetah, zebra, lion, giraffe, impala, topi, and leopard. The Serengeti is also home to more than 540 species of birds.

Day Five: Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive from 6:30am until 11am. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch. Game drive again in the afternoon from 3pm until 6:30pm. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Six: Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive from 6:30am until 11am. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch. Game drive again in the afternoon from 3pm until 6:30pm. Proceed to Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Seven: Serengeti National Park
Spend another full day in the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Mbuzi Mawe.

Day Eight: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Leave the lodge for a final game drive in the Serengeti. Game drive in the Serengeti until 2pm, at which point you will leave Serengeti National Park and enter Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Game drive along the way to Ngorongoro Crater, arriving at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge in time for the spectacular Crater sunset.

The Crater's resident wildlife includes lion, zebra, cheetah, wildebeest, hippo, elephant, and flamingo.

Day Nine: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
At 7am, leave the campsite for a six-hour game drive in the crater. The largest unbroken caldera in the world, Ngorongoro has an area of 260 kilometers and a depth of 610 meters. The crater provides a protected habitat for thousands of mammals and birds. At 2pm, leave the Crater to return to Arusha. Overnight at Jacaranda Hotel.
