Hamisi Athmani - Porter/Waiter/Summit Assistant

photo of Isack Hamisi started working with Duma Explorer in early 2006 as a porter. After completing a few climbs, Hamisi was promoted to waiter and summit assistant. Hamisi is extremely helpful around camp and thus is given extra jobs whenever they are available. He often accompanies climbers to the summit as he has English knowledge. Before joining Duma Explorer, Hamisi worked with two other climbing companies based in Arusha. He enjoys his climbs most when the weather is good as he feels that the guests are also happy about it.

In 2009, Hamisi hopes to attend Kilimanjaro National Park's guide training course. Duma Explorer supports his efforts to advance his skills and knowledge and will be happy to help him reach his goal. Hamisi would also like to obtain a driver's license so that he can eventually be a safari guide.
