Grumeti River Lodge

Grumeti River Lodge is located in the Western Serengeti, close to the Grumeti airstrip. This small, luxury tented camp is best visited May through July, when the wildebeest migration moves through this area. We recommend combining Grumeti River Camp with a stay in the Central or Northern Serengeti to experience the varied environments of the park. Grumeti lodge interior and exterior photos; this lodge features unique and rare artwork from local natural materials. All rooms overlook a hippo pond so you'll enjoy close-up views of animals through your stay.

There are ten total tents at this camp, all of which are vibrantly decorated. Natural materials are used to create unique and unexpected artworks both in the rooms and around the camp. All rooms overlook a hippo pond. The camp is a short drive from Grumeti Airstrip.

Grumeti, along with Klein's Camp and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, is an & Beyond property, one of several in Northern Tanzania's national parks. The customer service of all & Beyond properties is impeccable, but it comes at a price. Discounts usually apply to stays of four or more nights.

Duma flying into or out of Grumeti River Camp and thus will place this property at either the start or end of a safari. Although Grumeti has a small swimming pool, it is generally used only on special occasions. Also, this camp is more appropriate for honeymoons rather than family vacations.
