Kirurumu Tented Lodge
Kirurumu is a tented lodge that lies just outside Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara and the surrounding area. The view from the lodge is spectacular, and this camp is perfect for those who enjoy panoramic views. The bar, restaurant, and some of the tents all enjoy beautiful views.
Kirurumu is not located inside a national park, making it much less expensive than most tented lodges of similar quality. This is a perfect stop for lodge safari-goers on a budget. There are twenty en-suite tents situated among hundreds of indigenous plants and trees. For those who enjoy learning about native vegetation, Kirurumu is a great safari stop. Most of the tents are spaced far apart from one another, offering considerable privacy.
As Lake Manyara is a small park, Kirurumu is usually visited for only one night in between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater or Serengeti visits. For those staying at Kirurumu longer than one night, there are non safari activities available including half and full day hikes, bird walks, and bike rides. Kirurumu's walking guides are very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and local culture, making the walks interesting and educational.
Kirurumu is open year round and accepts children of all ages. Internet services are not available, but there is mobile phone reception.
