Migration Camp
Migration Camp is a luxury tented camp on the road to Lobo in the Northern Serengeti. Visits to Migration Camp are recommended during July, August and September safaris when the wildebeest migration passes through this area.
The best aspect of this camp is its location. Migration is located in a woodland area close to the Grumeti River.
The camp's 20 tents are situated among the trees and rock outcrops near the Grumeti River. Each private tent has an outdoor deck with splendid views of the surrounding woodland.
Another benefit of Migration's location is that it is in the Northern Serengeti, but not far enough north to demand a flight from the Central Serengeti. The drive from the Central Serengeti to Migration Camp is approximately two hours.
Facilities at the lodge include a swimming pool, several sitting and observation decks, a bar, lounge and gift shop. The camp is furnished with large leather couches and chairs in an African theme.
There is one honeymoon suite at the camp. This suite is larger than the other tents at the camp and offers many amenities that the other rooms do not have such as an outdoor bathtub, wraparound deck and room service. The honeymoon suite should be booked several months in advance.
Migration Camp was recently renovated and the rooms and sitting areas are very comfortable. Although Duma recommends this camp, there are many smaller camps for approximately the same price that offer a more intimate safari experience.
