Oliver's Camp

Oliver's Camp is located in the southeast section of Tarangire, an area ideal for game-viewing during the dry season. The camp consists of eight en-suite tents, a mess tent and library. Oliver's is the only camp permitted to operate guided bush walks inside the park, so those wanting to experience Tarangire by foot should consider Oliver's.

The camp's guides are quite knowledgeable about the wildlife and surrounding area making bush walks a highlight of the Oliver's experience. Oliver's also offers fly-camping for those who want While Oliver's is very nice, we recommend Swala over Oliver's as we feel that Swala offers more for the same price. Oliver's is our second choice in Tarangire when Swala is full.

Although Oliver's location is beautiful and extremely private, the tents are quite old and the camp is in need of an overhaul. The camp also lost some of its charm when it was sold by its original owner, Paul Oliver. Asilia Lodges, the new owners of Oliver's, upgraded the camp in 2006 and we will write a new review after visiting the camp.

Oliver's offers both game package and full-board rates. Fly camping is also available at the game package rate. Laundry and a full selection of beverages are included.
