1. Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays from Duma Explorer! We celebrated Christmas at Hezron Mbise's house by roasting a whole goat, along with a large group of clients from the United States. We wish you joy and peace during the holiday season and a wonderful new year.

2. Wildlife Report

crowned eagle dead impala It's the first time Hezron Mbise has seen something like this: A baby impala was killed by a crowned eagle at Manyara National Park. He's never even heard of such action before. It goes to show that each safari trip is completely unique and every trip you take with us will bring different experiences and sights! We have the gory photos online to share the excitement with you. Please click on each photo to launch a larger version.

3. Holiday Kilimanjaro Report

Duma's Stacy Readal led a group of nineteen students up Kilimanjaro from December 19-24. Seventeen of the nineteen people made it to Uhuru Peak resulting in a success rate of 90%. Although there were many signs of altitude sickness and fatigue, the group slowly made its way to the 5895 meter summit. The group reached Stellar Point (5745 meters) at sunrise and then continued for one hour more to Uhuru Peak. The climb will be the feature story of the February issue of Student World Traveler so be sure to read the details then.
