Client Praise for Isack Msuya
January 2012
This trip that you planned for us was extraordinary, and our guide must be the best guide in Africa for the depth of his knowledge of wildlife, birds, plants, trees. He took us where we saw no other tourists for hours; Isaak allowed us to stay in one place for as long as we wanted (except at the end of the day when we had hours to go before the lodge). Isaak was funny, fun, had so much wisdom to impart, his energy was perfect—calm, relaxed, delightful. We asked him to join us for meals at the camps and we just were so deeply impressed with him. He tells incredible stories about animals, family, the country. I miss Isaak and think he is extraordinary. You could tell that other companies just were on tight schedules, drive up, see lion, leave…where we stayed for 45 minutes observing behaviors, learning from Isaak about what was going on so many levels….behavioral, psychological, etc.
Just a short note to say this was the most extraordinary experience of a lifetime. Isaak was fabulous, beyond description. his knowledge of nature and his love for all of nature, from tiny plants, to every bird, to the lives of animals. He is one of the nicest men in the world and we were privileged and honored to be with him. Thank you so much for sharing him with us and convey to him how deeply we appreciated every moment with him, and his amazing stories will be in our minds forever. So so so incredible.

Our guide, Isaac, made what would have been a good experience into a once in a lifetime experience. Isaac’s love of the animals came through in all his descriptions of the animal behaviors we were seeing. He could spot animals that we could barely see and easily identify both animals and birds. In addition, we appreciated Isaac’s joy, humility and kindness as he guided us on our 9 day safari.

Isack was fantastic. Not only did he pick a perfect itinerary for us, where we saw the Wildebeest migration as well as an extraordinary number of predators, but the level of service he provided to us was outstanding. His knowledge surrounding the area, its history, the animals and their social behaviour, the birds and even the plant life was amazing - there wasn't a single question he couldn't answer. He also has a deep respect and love for the animals and for nature and conservation which we really appreciated, particularly it didn't seem to be shared by some of the other Safari company drivers! Isack has the eyes of an eagle and one truly special thing about our safari was the fact that he was able to find the animals on his own - he had an uncanny knack of knowing where to go - rather than having the radio on and constantly chasing around after the other tracks. This meant that we had the joy of discovering things for ourselves rather than being surrounded by other people all the time. We also loved the fact the radio was never on, which meant we could relax and enjoy the drive as well as be entertained by Isack's amazing anecdotes and be educated about the animals rather than be constantly irritated by the chatter of the radio. Some of his stories we will be dining out on for years! The truck was always spotlessly clean each morning and it was clear that Isack takes great pride in his work. He is a real asset to your organisation.

As we reflect on our wonderful African experience we know we owe a great deal to the Duma family of staff. It was a collaboration of many aspects but the unifying feature was our wonderful guide, Isack. It was him that imparted the respect for nature and the magnificence of the Serengeti. He is a quality individual with a vast knowledge of the habitat of the animals and a genuine love for what he does. He passed this on to the four of us and thus enhanced our experience of the safari.

It was an awesome trip and Isack made a huge
difference and had enormous impact on the overall success.
Isack has fabulous patience with 4 camera & video wielding tourists when it came to the many desired photo stops! Also, he's an excellent off-road and dirt road driver. If you don't know what you're doing in that terrain and on those roads, I know from experience that it can be very UNcomfortable for the passengers. He's knows exactly when & where to slow down or to speed up again, plus how to best handle washboard sections.

Isack was simply amazing! He seemed to have “super vision”, which he used to spot birds and animals we would struggle to see using binoculars! Every evening after game drives were over, we would sit down to dinner and recount the day’s happenings. One subject that was a constant in our conversations was how much value Isack was adding to our journey! We marveled at how he managed to drive smoothly (even over some wicked-bad roads), and answer ALL our questions while simultaneously keeping his keen eyes peeled for wildlife. We especially appreciated Isack’s obvious passion for the wildlife, and his love for his country. Clearly, he enjoys his profession, and demonstrated that to us while highlighting the many wonders Tanzania has to offer - no creature or plant is too small to merit his attention, or to challenge his knowledge. Because of Isack’s skills, we also saw and learned about many of the wonderful birds in Tanzania - that was a very special and memorable experience that we do not believe we would have had without Isack.
We were blessed to be guided by Isack, whose easygoing and sweet nature, along with his love of the natural world and its creatures great and small added greatly to our experience. We miss him and the beauty of Tanzania and hope to return!
On our safari, Isaack really made the experience incredible. The day before the safari, he called us to confirm the pickup time and location. He has been doing this for many years (I think, 15-20??), and he knows SO much! He could spot animals by tracking them, he knew the history of everything, and he was always attentive to our needs and was flexible to what we wanted to do. Plus, he is a really funny guy and always makes you feel so comfortable. Having a good tour guide can make or break your safari, and Isaack did an amazing job.

I can't begin to say enough good things about how we were treated by yourself and our guide, Isack. We had a spectacular trip and Isack was the very best we could have ever hoped for. He has touched our hearts with his warm hospitality and superior knowledge of the country and the field. His patience led to some spectacular moments in the field and else ware.
November 2010
We had a great time. Isack was a great driver and showed great respect towards the environment - we really enjoyed our time.
October 2010
Issac was a great guide and driver. We all liked him a lot.
August 2010
Isack is such a kind and lovely person. We enjoyed his company very much and miss him. His vast knowledge of the wild and his obvious concern for the environment and its creatures added immeasurably to our experience.
January 2010
Isaac was superb: he was knowledgeable and thoughtful, a truly lovely and
gentle man with whom it was a pleasure to spend long hours traveling. And
oh my, his eyes for wildlife... We saw all the mammals we could hope for
and then some, like a serval cat and a jackal, animals not even on our
radar. Even now when we reminisce about our trip, we continue to marvel at
Isaac’s ability to spot the most well-camouflaged of birds. Dean’s hope of
a 100 new species was wildly surpassed: 309 new species!!! And then there
was Isaac’s infinite patience with the girls and his capacity, (in the midst
of ensuring that the grown-ups were happy!), to always have an eye open for
how the kids were faring. We felt incredibly well cared for by him: e.g.
his decision to not use a ranger for a hike who had only a spear and no gun,
his ability to take care of problems that arose with grace and ease. In
hindsight, we have wondered if other challenges arose on our trip that we
were simply unaware of, because Isaac quietly and efficiently just took care
of them. Truly, I can’t begin to tell you how much Isaac contributed to
making this a trip of a life-time: he was teacher, safe-keeper and friend all in one.
July 2010
Isaac was FANTASTIC. We loved Isaac -- his teaching style and wonderful personality really made
our trip special. We learned a ton from him about the natural history and
ecosystems -- and about how we could enjoy our time the best. He was a great
companion -- and natch, a superlative animal spotter.
April 2010
Firstly, we are having a GREAT trip and Isaac is a complete star. Thank YOU!
April 2009
Isack was an outstanding guide, with psychic powers and superhuman eyesight. His gentle demeanor, and comprehensive knowledge were central to our positive experience.
January 2009
It seemed that every time we said we wanted to see a particular animal, Isaac found one or more in the next hour, without fail! We also appreciated that he did not use the radio for information on spots so that for most of the safari we were the only vehicle in sight. When there were multiple vehicles he did not crowd around the animal/s like other companies, but rather stayed a good distance and did not ‘disturb nature’. This was important to us as we would like our children to be able to see what we saw in years to come.
July 2008
Isack was a walking book of knowledge. He knew all kinds of fascinating little details about the animals and plants, and the area in general, and he shared everything willing in a pleasant and often humorous way. He seemed to have a sixth sense about where to find the hard to find animals. We enjoyed him immensely, and felt like we were loosing a real friend upon our departure. He was more than just a driver. He gave us all the interesting little tidbits of knowledge that made out trip so special.
December 2007
Isack was an absolutely fantastic guide. His wildlife knowledge was superb, and he was an incredible spotter. He was very responsive to any requests or questions that we had. He was friendly, courteous, and just truly a pleasure to have as a guide. Having him as a guide definitely enhanced our experience.
July 2007
The highlight of our safari was Isack. His knowledge and manner never faltered. He went out of his way to show us all the animals, birds, flowers and grasses. He was extremely patient with our questions, waiting to get the perfect shot and while we shopped.
You have a 'gem' in Isack. We would recommend him to everyone. He is an excellent representative for Duma Explorer and an example to be followed by all driver/guides. You know how to pick ‘em.
June 2007
Isack was very excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, good-natured and very responsive to our interests. He made the safari portion of our trip a success, keeping us away from the crowds and spotting some elusive wildlife. The vehicle was spotless every morning despite the amount of dust gathered the day before. We were impressed at how smoothly all the arrangements went on safari.
June 2007
Isack was our guide and I can't say enough good things about him. I saw on your website that he is the newest hire. What a find! He is extremely knowledgeable and his eyesight is incredible. We all felt extremely lucky that he was our guide. Our experience would not have been as enjoyable without Isack.
May 2007
The trip really would not have been the same without Isack. He was such a GREAT guide and we really enjoyed getting to know him. His knowledge of the animals and land is amazing. Not to mention his eyesight and hearing!! We learned so much from him and appreciate all of his hard work, from the bottom of our hearts. We missed him during our time in Zanzibar!
April 2007
The driver/guide is a key part in the success of the safari. Isack could spot animals (many are well camouflaged) long before we could see them. He knew the names of all the birds, plants etc. the habits and status of the animal groups, and the background of the parks. His driving was superb and considerate. We saw several 'cowboys' rocket past us on many occasions and I pitied their passengers. The roads in many cases are like an assault course and you don't want a 'cowboy' at the wheel!
February 2007
Isack was very knowledgeable and has an amazing ability to sense and locate wildlife. His expertise and driving skills were much appreciated.
January 2007
When we arrived in Tanzania we were met by Isack who was extremely friendly and helpful from the offset. Our luggage did not arrive with us but Isack was quick to reassure us that he would be flexible the following morning to make sure we had the supplies we needed whilst Duma would help us to retrieve the luggage (both of which happened for which we were very grateful).
Both Isack and Mr. Bean were really friendly and seemed keen to make our holiday as had enjoyable as possible. Both worked extremely hard and approached their work with a professionalism that impressed all of us. Isack seemed to take pride in making sure the vehicle was spotless each day.
By the end of our time together, it felt as though we were traveling with friends, not simply a cook and a guide and because of that, it made our holiday and impression of Tanzania all the more special.
December 2006
Our guide Isack was terrific! He was very knowledgeable about animals, plants and the terrain. He has the ability to see animals at such a distance that the rest of us wondered if were going blind! He is a terrific driver; his driving was closely monitored me (I wanted to drive too) and his skill on some of the roughest roads I’ve ever been on was second to none.
Isack has a sense of humor and is very entertaining and interesting to talk to. He went out of his way to stand up for us wazungu when we were being overcharged at a lunch stop on our way back from the coast. He is real gem.
There is something very sincere about Isack that I very much appreciated. He didn't try to impress us by being a 'Macho' safari guide. We had a lot of good lot of good laughs together.
