Standard Safaris

photo of standard lodge Standard safaris consist of accommodation in lodges and tented camps on safari and in Arusha. Visit the Lodges page for details. Standard accommodations are less expensive than the luxury lodges and tented camps and generally do not offer as many amenities as the high-end properties. Many of the standard properties are larger facilities (20 - 75 rooms) and have buffet meals. Below is a list of some of the properties we frequent during standard safaris:

Arusha: Kibo Palace, Impala Hotel, Arusha Hotel

We recommend combining tented camps with lodge stays during a standard safari. Tented camps allow you to 'sleep in nature' without having to camp. Often, bush walks and night drives are available at camps located outside the national parks.

photo of standard lodge We recommend going on morning and afternoon game drives, returning to the lodge for lunch. If the lodge is far from the wildlife, we recommend going on full day game drives with a picnic lunch in the park.

Lodge Safaris include:
- All park entrance entrance and lodge fees
- 4WD Land Cruiser transportation including game drives
- Experienced driver/guide for your group (each employee has at least seven years experience in the safari industry
- All meals and bottled drinking water (in vehicle) while on safari
- Transfer to/from Arusha

Lodge safaris do not include gratuities, soda/alcohol, laundry services, travel/health insurance, airfare, visa fees or items of a personal nature.
