In addition to your driving safari, Duma can arrange short trips both inside and outside the national parks. We advise adding one or two extensions during a driving safari in order to take a break from the vehicle and experience nature from a different perspective.

Bush Walks: short walks are available in some areas of the national parks and outside the park boundaries. There are many different walks available, ranging from easy to strenuous. Below is a list of where bush walks are available.

Tarangire National Park: Short bush walks are available from camps both inside and outside the park. The waks are usually short and hike over flat but often uneven terrain. The walks tend to focus on birdlife and the ecosystem.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Both easy and moderate hikes are available in Ngorongoro. During peak migration season, walks can be arranged in the Ndutu area. Around Ngorongoro Crater, there are several opportunities for walking that are easy to moderate in difficulty.

Arusha National Park: Spend up to four hours hiking in Arusha National Park. Both easy and strenuous hikes are available and the scenery in Arusha is beautiful with opportunities to see wildlife on foot.

Serengeti Ecosystem: Bush walks are available from most camps that are outside the park.

Rift Valley hikes: One to three hour hikes are available outside Lake Manyara. More difficult hikes descend the Rift Valley Escarpment while easier walks focus on birdlife around the lodges.

West Kilimanjaro: Hiking in West Kilimanjaro can be an exhilarating experience as large game is often viewed while on foot. Even if you do not come across an elephant, you will usually see fresh droppings. Beautiful views of Kilimanjaro's peak are also a highlight of West Kilimanjaro visits.

Canoe Safaris

Canoe safaris are available in Arusha National Park year round and seasonally in Lake Manyara National Park. Canoe rides last approximately two hours and we recommend going in the morning when the weather is cooler.

Night Game Drives

Night drives are available from camps outside the national parks and inside Lake Manyara National Park. Night game drives are conducted by camp or Green Footprint staff rather than your Duma Explorer driver.
