How Much Are Park Fees in Tanzania?
Park fees constitute a major cost of any safari or Kilimanjaro climb. The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) sets entry fees for all national parks, while the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) manages fees for Ngorongoro. The fees listed below were last updated by TANAPA effective July 1, 2021. As of this writing, no new fee schedule has been announced, and these rates remain valid until further notice.
A note on future changes: While the Tanzanian government is supposed to provide 12 months' advance notice of park fee increases, some increases have been announced just months before peak season begins (most park fee changes take effect on July 1 of any given year). If any fee increases are announced between the time you book and the time you travel, we will communicate the changes promptly and any adjustments will be reflected on your final invoice before departure. For the latest official information, refer to the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) website.
Park entry fees are charged in full 24 hour periods. Campsite fees are charged per night.
In addition, many activities such as night game drives, walking safaris, canoe safaris, and balloon landings have extra park fees added to their cost.
For example, a night game drive from Hilala Camp in Tarangire National Park costs $100 dollars per person plus a $59 dollar park fee for a total of $159 dollars per adult.
